Pandemic Portal

Emergency response site for COVID-19 crisis management and pilot resident portal

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Pandemic Portal is a mobile-friendly emergency response website created for the Hawai'i Public Housing Authority to provide public housing residents with essential information and resources related to the COVID-19 crisis.

PILOT

This site was developed as a pilot project to explore and implement some of the design strategies outlined in the Holistic Housing Design Framework, such as "Making Data Accessible" and "Nurturing Healthy Citizens." The creation and development of the "HPHA is Here for You" platform served as a foundation for internal discussions and planning regarding the agency's future website, resident portal, and other potential digital services.

TIMING & REACH

The website www.hphaishereforyou.org launched in the early weeks of the global pandemic and was highlighted in the official HPHA press release dated April 21, 2020, titled "Hawai'i Public Housing Authority COVID-19 Response to Prevent the Spread in Public Housing Communities Statewide." The press release was featured in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Hawai'i News Now, KITV4, and the Governor of Hawai'i's website. Additionally, the website was showcased on the University of Hawai'i News website on April 25, 2020.
