Ski On Home
Re-imagining the chalet typology for a family of extreme sports athletes in an avalanche zone
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Designed around the performative needs of a family of extreme sports athletes, a ski room acts as an open hinge between the loft, family wing, Swedish sauna, gym, and guest suite. Ski-in/ski-out access is available on every level, and the uppermost roof provides 360-degree views of the valley and KT-22. Set in an active avalanche zone, a central plaza is designed around snowplow turning radii, and the nestled building massing tempers the impact of a shifting snowpack.
